Charity Consignment Company

Charity Consignment Company was created as a result of three personal activities Mike Stoner. Mr. Stoner is an Atlanta attorney, who has represented several sports personalities on legal matters. He served as attorney for Mickey Mantle's agent, Greer Johnson. He has done work for Braves Manager, Bobby Cox, and he has been involved in a couple of legal matters for Hank Aaron. He operates a sports memorabilia vending business, which obviously was aided by his work and connection with the above parties, as well as attendance at card shows and participation in private signings with athletes. Finally, Mr. Stoner has been an active charity volunteer for a number years, boasting among his favorites, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Breast Friends, The American Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Major League Baseball Players Association alumni events in Atlanta. His main focus for years has been obtaining sports related auction items for fundraisers at events aiding these various charities. In addition, he has served as a volunteer auctioneer at many of the events.
As a result of these activities, additional charities have approached Mr. Stoner about obtaining sports items, especially given his reputation in the industry, and his knowledge about the auctions. Unfortunately, donations cannot be endless. But many organizations were happy to pay less than retail prices for items that could be auctioned off at the events. This was especially true if the items were consigned, with no obligation to purchase, if they did not sell. When possible, Mr. Stoner participates in the event, either as an auctioneer, or to simply appear, explain items, assure authenticity (he always issues certificates of authenticity on his law firm stationery), and to hype items, when desired by the charity.
The results of these activities have been quite amazing for the various charities. Depending on the attendance and the size of the wallets and hearts of the attendees, the net results, with little or no liability to the charities, has been quite successful. Further, the ability to pick custom items that fit the type of crowd and size of the attendance, has given Charity Consignment Company a good history of success in events supported to date. References are available from people who have worked with the company, and can attest to the financial success of those events in which the company has participated.
Can we be of service to your fundraiser?
